Software Freedom Day

Annual global celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)

Software Freedom Day is a global celebration of FOSS. We will be joining enthusiasts all over the globe celebrating Software Freedom Day this year on September 19, 2020. Software Freedom Day is an annual grass roots effort to educate the public on the virtues of Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) and also to encourage its use. Over 1000+ participants participated in our previous events put together. This year's SFD is a LIVE stream of recorded talks by our community members.

The goal in this celebration is to educate the worldwide public about the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business -- in short, everywhere! The non-profit organization Software Freedom International coordinates SFD at a global level, providing support, giveaways and a point of collaboration, but volunteer teams around the world organize the local SFD events to impact their own communities.
